BRC / IOP (British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging)

Since 2016 Heyne & Penke has been successfully certified by BRC and by the TÜV Nord with the classification B according to the global BRC standard for quality and packaging materials safety.

Currently, more and more food producers require their suppliers to have compliance with the firm BRC standards (including HACCP). Our BRC certificate demonstrates the company’s professionalism and competency on the international level.

Our local and international customers can be sure that the end-user is fully protected and all requirements for the flexible paper and film packaging production are totally and competently met.

DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2015 - Quality Management

Our Quality Management is TÜV certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2015.

In November 2015, a regular Quality Management audit was carried out by TÜV Nord.

Our first certification took place in 1994; since then Heyne & Penke has been consistent with QM certification for over 20 years.

Sedex - BSCI-Code of Conduct

Through our voluntary membership at Sedex, we have been committed to complying with the BSCI International Code of Business Conduct (Business Social Compliance Initiative) for 10 years. It covers ethical conventions, social and environmental standards. Heyne & Penke has been successfully complied with general ethical principles in areas of employee rights, job satisfaction, occupational safety, health and environmental protection. In 2015, we were audited by TÜV Rheinland for the SMETA 4-pillar version (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit).

FSC^® (Forest Stewardship Council^®) - Responsible forest Management

The Forest Stewardship Council® promotes environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically sensible management of the world's forests. In 2015, Heyne & Penke received the FSC® Chain of Custody Certificate (license number FSC-C125774).

This Certificate can only be received by paper product manufacturers that can prove and guarantee responsible forest management throughout the entire production chain. This important credential demonstrates our great attention to sustainability and it meaningfully complements our exceptional product quality and reliable service with another important unique selling point.

Products made of compostable and biodegradable materials (Keimling)

DIN CERTO, in 2015, officially certified a wax-coated twist paper for sweets by Heyne & Penke as a packaging product made of compostable or biodegradable material.

Heyne & Penke was awarded internationally recognized certification marks of “compostable” packaging after thorough certification tests by DIN Certo (Packaging standard DIN EN 13432: 2000-12)

DPG Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH

In accordance to the certification guidelines of DPG Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH, in 2015, we successfully passed Level 2 as part of the two-stage certification process for the production of DPG beverage labels. We have expanded our portfolio by introducing these products; and have since been working with a few well-known brand companies in the beverage market for a number of years.

Energy efficiency and environmental protection

The quotation from the Rafflenbeul CO2 report: "Based on the obtained results, the production process of Heyne & Penke Verpackungen GmbH is considered to be particularly energy efficient. Heyne & Penke Verpackungen GmbH is one of the most progressive companies in the industry in terms of a sustainable energy policy compared to competing companies. Products of Heyne & Penke Verpackungen GmbH are characterized by an exceptionally environmentally friendly and resource-saving manufacturing process. "

In 2015, TÜV Nord also confirmed that the Heyne & Penke’s existing system for improving energy efficiency meets all required standards.
